Myles Turner after Pacers’ win over Lakers: ‘Shout-out to the real Indiana fans’ (IndyStar)
INDIANAPOLIS – The parade of No. 23 jerseys started suddenly – a mixed array of Cleveland, Miami, St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, and of course Lakers purple and gold garb that clogged the Bankers Life Fieldhouse escalators shortly before 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night.
But as fast as they shuffled, they could hardly get out of earshot before Myles Turner coolly muttered the line over the mic that put some Indiana basketball fans to task.
“Shout-out to the real Indiana fans,” Turner said as he capped his post-game TV interview moments after his Pacers downed the Lakers, 105-102, to snap Los Angeles’ 14-game road winning streak and pick up his team’s biggest win to date this season.
